A search engine is a program found on a Web page that will search for Web pages, Web sites, or Internet files. These are matched up to keywords that you enter on the search engine Web page.
A search engine contains a database of domain names or "Web addresses." This database is usually built by Webcrawlers, spiders or robots which are programs designed to search the Internet. These programs catalog new Web pages into the search engine's database.
You Web browser usually provides access to a search engines with a "Search" button. You can also access a search engine by entering the domain name or "Web address" in the location line of your Web browser.
